Exciting Updates from ISRO’s Chandrayaan 3 Launch: The LVM3 Rocket Takes Off from the Sriharikota Launchpad!

The Chandrayaan-3 mission of the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has been launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota on Thursday, July 14 at 2.35 pm Indian time.

If ISRO successfully completes this mission, India will join an elite list of three other countries that have managed to soft-land on the Moon – the United States, the erstwhile Soviet Union and more recently China. Both the United States and the Soviet Union crashed several spacecraft before successfully landing on the Moon. China was the only country to succeed in its first attempt with the Chang’e-3 mission in 2013.

The spacecraft has successfully lifted off from Earth and is now orbiting the planet on its journey towards the Moon. According to Chandrayaan’s project director P Veeramuthuvel, it consists of a number of critical events, including earth-bound manoeuvres, insertion into lunar orbit, separation of the lander, a set of deboost maneuvers and the power descent stage for soft landing. -3 spacecraft.

The LVM-3 rocket

The Chandrayaan-3 mission is catching a ride to space on ISRO’s mighty rocket, the Launch Vehicle Mark-III. This incredible launch vehicle is equipped with two S2000 solid rocket boosters that will deliver the necessary thrust for takeoff. Once the solid boosters detach, the L110 liquid stage will take control. After the liquid stage separates, the CE25 cryogenic stage will kick in to propel the spacecraft forward.

PM Modi, President Murmu congratulate ISRO

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to his Twitter account to express his thoughts on the launch of Chandrayaan-3. “Chandrayaan-3 scripts a new chapter in India’s space odyssey. It soars high, elevating the dreams and ambitions of every Indian. This momentous achievement is a testament to our scientists’ relentless dedication. I salute their spirit and ingenuity!” he wrote.

Meanwhile, President Droupadi Murmu, in her tweet extended her heartfelt congratulations to the ISRO team and everyone who worked relentlessly to accomplish the feat. “It demonstrates the nation’s unwavering commitment to advancement in space science and technology. My best wishes for the success of the lunar mission,” she wrote.
