By Infinity Byte: World Famous Actor Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao has got National recognition. With his name 100 Rs coin is unveiled. The invitation for the special event is given to sons, daughters and extended family of NTR.
On May 28th, 1923, NTR was born in Nimmakuru, Krishna District. With his dedication and hard work, he created his own recognition in movie field as well as in Political field. As a mark of his services to the society to last forever, Department of Finance has introduced the 100 Rs coin on his 100th birthday celebrations.

This coin was unveiled by our President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan. One more special thing about this event is the coin is printed in the mint compound of Hyderabad. The picture which is printed on the coin is selected by the family members of NTR. Nandamuri fans are so happy about this event.
The coin is made of 50 percent silver,40 percent copper, 5 percent Nickell and 5 percent Zinc with a diameter of 44mm. Some more interesting features of coin are three lions and Ashoka chakra on one side and Visage of NTR on the other side, along with the inscription ‘Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao Satha Jayanthi’.
Back in February, it was reported that the NTR’s daughter and former Union Minister Daggubati Purandeswarri disclosed at her father’s birth anniversary that the family will be in touch with the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to launch the commemorative coin on the 100th birth anniversary of the legendary actor-turned-politician.
With Respect towards the honorable N.T Ramarao, everyone in the event stood up while the inaugural happened. After the unveiling event, mementos are given to Nara Chandrababu Naidu by Nivetha and to JP Natrajan by Hitesh.
Droupadi Murmu speech at N.T.R Rs100 coin inaugural event
The President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu released the commemorative coin on Late Shri NT Rama Rao on his centenary year at Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre today (August 28, 2023).
Speaking on the occasion, the President said that Late Shri NT Rama Rao has enriched Indian cinema and culture through Telugu films. He breathed life into the prominent characters of Ramayana and Mahabharata through his acting. The characters of Lord Rama and Lord Krishna played by him became so alive that people started worshiping NTR. She noted that NTR also expressed the pain of the common people through his acting. He spread the message of social justice and equality through one of his films ‘Manushulanta Okkate’ i.e. All human beings are equal.
The President said that NTR’s popularity was equally wide as a public servant and leader. He created a unique chapter in Indian politics through his extraordinary personality and hard work. He initiated many public welfare programs, which are remembered till today.
The President appreciated Ministry of Finance, Government of India for bringing the commemorative coin on NTR. She said that his unique personality would always be imprinted in the hearts of the people, especially the Telugu speaking people.
