Heavy rains for Next 3 days continue in Telangana. Govt declared Holidays for 2 days for schools. IMD sounds RED alert.
Telangana, June 25: Indian Meteorological Department forecasts moderate to heavy rains in most of the places of Telangana for next 3 days.
It also warned that rains will be heavy to very heavy, with extremely heavy rains in few isolated places of several districts.

Red Alert due to Heavy Rains for next 3 days
The India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall for Telangana over the next few days. The weather department sounded a red alert on Monday, predicting ‘extremely heavy rain’ for certain parts of the state between 8.30 am on July 25 and 8.30 am on July 28. Hyderabad also faced heavy rain and consequently traffic snarls and waterlogging on Monday as an ‘upper air cyclonic circulation’ over the Bay of Bengal continued to gain momentum.
Red alert is issued for Telangana on 25th,26th and 27th of June.
On 25th, extremely heavy rainfall is likely to occur over the eastern districts. Hyderabad and adjoining districts are likely to have heavy rainfall. Thereafter the system is likely to move west northwestwards and there will be a reduction in rainfall July 28 onwards,” said Naagaratna – the Director of the Hyderabad Metrological Center.
Due to these heavy rains the employees are getting stuck in traffic for hours together. Private Employees are hoping for Work from home due to these traffic jam.
Holiday Announcement due to Heavy Rains
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao declared two-day holidays for all government offices and educational institutions in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits due to heavy rain causing waterlogging and traffic congestion.
