Long ago, our country was ruled by kings. They used to live in Palaces. They own lots of treasure, properties and many temples. In India farmer grows Plenty of grains and spices. People used to live happily under our kings. Once Britishers came to visit India. They observed that the India is a very beautiful country with all the richness. With an evil intention, the Britishers tended to be friends with the kings.
But later they started execution their plan of occupying India and started fight with the Indian Kings. Then Prithvi Raj Chowhan, Nanasaheeb Peshwa, Rani Jhansi Lakshmi Bhai and many more kings fight against Britishers. However Indian kings were lost in their power. Then Britishers started ruling our Country.
From 1757, Britain increased its control over India through East India Company. From 1858 onwards, directly ruled India and known as British Raj. This is called British Colonialism.
Many People fought with Britishers for freedom. Then came Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabai Patel, Shubhash Chandra Bose, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Bhagath Singh, Chandra Shekar Azad, Jawaharlal Nehru and many more freedom fighters showed their Unity against Britishers and sent them back to their country.
Approximately after ruling India for 89 years, Britishers left our Country on August 15, 1947. Hence, we celebrate Independence Day.
